Services at St Philip's

As you will expect, our Holy Week and Easter celebrations will look a little different at St. Philip’s this year, but we very much hope that you will join with us in new and creative ways as we journey with Christ. Maundy Thursday will be particularly innovative as we invite you to share in a take-away meal from church and to join on Zoom for an all-age event to recall the Last Supper!

There are a range of services and events happening, so do read on for more information on what’s happening when, and how to book in:

How will the Maundy Thursday take-away work?

Traditionally on Maundy Thursday we come together in the Church Centre to share a meal as we recall Jesus’ last supper before his death. This year we cannot gather in person, but we still plan to eat the same meal together in our homes, but prepared at Church for take-away! Eleanor Gray has kindly taken on the task of preparing a 3-course meal for us to enjoy together in the comfort of our homes as we come together over Zoom for a time of symbolic family activity and worship on this special evening.

The take-away will be available for collection from the Church Centre between 4.30pm-6pm – it will also be available for delivery for a few on request.

The main course will be a chicken stew (with Vegan option available). There is a suggested donation of £5 per adult.

Our time together on Zoom will start at 6.30pm. The evening will be split into sections of symbolic remembrance, as well as opportunities to eat together over conversation.

We really hope you will join in this creative meal!

How do I book a take-away meal?

Email easter@stphilipschurch.org.uk and we will respond asking for necessary information such as number of meals, dietary requirements, pick-up time etc.

We hope to be able to cater for all who would like to share in this evening, but booking early will help with planning so please email by next Friday 26th March.

How do I book to attend the meditation in Church on Good Friday?

Email easter@stphilipschurch.org.uk detailing how many seats you would like to reserve in your bubble. A reply will be sent to you confirming your reservation.

We look forward to journeying through Holy Week with you and celebrating together on Easter Sunday!
