Avril Timson

Avril started volunteering with the St Philip’s youth when she was studying for her youth worker degree. She has been a steady friend of the Church ever since, dipping in and out of our 24/7 and Edge groups. In 2015 she became the Church’s Youth Worker and has been spearheading our ever growing and developing youth work since.

Avril sees the main aim of her role as building relationships with young people, supporting them in finding and developing their relationships with God. Spending time with the young people whilst they are on their journey, gives Avril her work satisfaction. “Being able to help and encourage young people to find answers is so very rewarding”.

Avril’s full-time job is at Romsey Mill where she is a Youth Development Worker within its Aspire programme where she run youth clubs for young people in mainstream education with high functioning Autism and Asperger's.

Away from work (and young people!) Avril enjoys spending time with friends and family.
