Phil's People Evening. Second Wednesday of the month at 6pm - some arrive before to help set up
Come and enjoy a meal provided by one of our voluntary chefs, served by us, interspersed with devotional and musical interludes.
We aim to come alongside those who are can be often neglected or forgotten. 1 in 4 people have mental and social problems at some time in their life and this is a way we seek to bring friendship and support. It is ministry to the 'poor' that is in our Lords heart -we disocver the truth in the words of Jesus, 'blessed are the poor, for theirs is the kingdom of God'. Do come to share in this work - recognising ourselves as poor.
We seek to make opportunities to sing or jam with the band, share a poem either yours or one you have read and liked. Opportunities for a brief prayer and reflection in a quiet time.
Held in the Church Centre, second Wednesday of each month 6.00 until 8.00. all welcome. One of our earlier guests,John, who would often contribute a thought and a prayer said, "We should call ourselves Phil's People as we are Phil's people" John is no longer with us in body, he is with the Lord
