Admission to Holy Communion before Confirmation

Admission to Communion before Confirmation

We are keen to admit children to Communion so they can receive the bread and wine. We do not want then to have to miss out on this regular opportunity to remember Jesus death and resurrection and his grace or make adult  commitments. They will need to have been baptised, coming along to the Sunday service and wanting to share in this way.

Once parents and chldren have indicated that they would like this, we will do a short preparation group with them so that they can have a better appreciation of what the bread and the wine is about.

We always offer a prayer and blessing when children come up to the Communion rails, if they do not have the bread and wine, this fits well with Jesus desire to bless children.

Have a word with one of the children leaders or other leaders about these things

The PCC leadership produced a policy on this which is available
